The yachting community can be rather small at times and at some point, you run into the same folks years later. Career paths and life’s adventures find you together again at boat shows and other industry events. These relationships built over the years has brought Baranof to work with these great yacht builders. Each is based on a family history of yacht building and love for what we all enjoy—boating. From visits to builders, other projects and designers, captains, and brokers—we enjoy the process and the relationships built.
We are proud to work with these shipyards who offer their skill sets and capabilities to our customers.
Let us introduce them:
With a history of building over 1,100 yachts built in the last 50 years, this shipyard is in southern Taiwan on the coast. The Legend Yachts brand by President ranges from 60 to 95 feet has yachts cruising the Pacific Northwest, Eastern seaboard, Australia, and the South Pacific, to name a few. They also have successful designs and builds over 100 feet to include a 137-foot motor yacht under construction.
They have an extensive design team to do renderings, engineering, and accommodate most any request our buyers have to add to their new yacht. Their yacht building team had decades of experience in building great yachts for the US and European cruising areas.
This is another family business with a successful career in both sail and power yachts over the last 60 years. They build in SCRIMP, the patented resin-infusion process that increases straight of the laminates, reduces emissions, and makes a very tough hull and deck. Ta Chou Shipyard builds the gorgeous powerhouse, the Aquabay 70 and the sleek Olympia 76. The Aquabay is a graceful yacht designed for the Australian market. The Olympia 76 has yachts cruising Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, and Thailand. It has a variety of interior design options, engine options from traditional drive to pod drive systems that open up the interior spaces even more. From green technologies to IPS drive systems, they are familiar with new ideas and layouts to maximize your enjoyment and increase fuel efficiency. They have a great following of owners in Australia and Southeast Asian, as well as Taiwan and Japan.
Built in aluminum in Holland, this family builder has a great history in yachting and a long order book. We have worked with Guido de Groot on a past new build and can attest to the sea keeping abilities of his and incredible interior designs. Van Der Valk has produced some exceptional yachts for their buyers. They have models that appeal to small families or couples, as well as larger yachts from 75 feet to 114 feet. Their displacement yachts can be built in both aluminum and steel hull with aluminum superstructure. These yachts highlight the amazing skill set based in Holland and the dedication to their craft.
